Converting aviation and aerospace technologies to civilian use

Abstract The following is the report of Working Group E at the UN conference on ‘Conversion — opportunities for development and environment’ held in Dortmund, Germany, 24–27 February 1992. The conference was convened to examine the ongoing process of transition from military to civilian economies initiated by the ending of the Cold War. It dealt with a wide range of sectors and issues; that covered by Working Group E was specifically concerned with conversion of aviation and aerospace technologies and was chaired by Prof Dr Karl-Heinz Bockstiegel.
