Synthesis and several reactions of the N-aryl-1,4-benzodiazepine-mono-ones (8) are described. With the Sandmeyer-reaction of 3f, a substitution of the p-position of the N-phenyl ring may occur. The compounds exhibit only a slight action upon the central nervous system (CNS).
