Highly Moisture-Resistant, Silane-Modified, Cyanogen-Free Optical Adhesives, and Their Reliability

We have developed highly moisture-resistant optical adhesives for optical communication. These cyanogen-free, silane-modified adhesives are less allergenic and environmentally friendly. These adhesives contain organic and inorganic hybrid structure and their median times to failure by deterioration are 11-132 times longer than that of Epotek-353ND. Adhesion characteristics are also good for other adherents.

Bond properties of silane modified optical adhesives for silicon photonics

We report the adhesion properties between glass plates and silicon chips by measuring compression shear strength changes of silane modified optical adhesives, Y-41, Y-42, Y-43, and Y-45R after various reliability tests, with the goal to apply these adhesives to the newly emerging Si-photonics area.

Novel highly moisture resistant optical adhesives and their high power resistivity

We have developed highly moisture resistant optical adhesives for optical communication. These cyanogen-free, silane modified adhesives are less allergenic and more environmentally friendly than conventional ones. These adhesives consist of organic and inorganic hybrid structure and their median times to failure by deterioration are 11-132times longer than those of Epotek-353ND. In the temperature-humidity cycle test, heat cycle test, and pressure cooker test these adhesives showed better reliability and higher power resistivity than 353ND.
