AirSenseWare: Sensor-network Middleware for Information Sharing

Keiro Muro; Takehiro Urano; Toshiyuki Odaka; Kei Suzuki

AirSenseWare, a sensor-network middleware that provides abstraction models to user applications is described. The abstract modeling and its event-delivering mechanism let a user handle the real world model, instead of a sensor node itself, and hide its unexpected dynamic behaviour such as node adding, removing, and position changes. These abstraction models are shareable, which leads the cooperative construction of the real world model. AirSenseWare also serves the application independent maintenance services that lead the easy maintenance for large-scale sensor network infrastructure.

4D-GIS (4 dimensional GIS) as spatial-temporal data mining platform and its application to managementand monitoring of large-scale infrastructures

Kazuaki Iwamura; Keiro Muro; Nobuhiro Ishimaru; Manabu Fukushima

A 4-dimensional geographic information system (4D-GIS) for use as a spatial-temporal data mining platform is introduced. The 4D-GIS effectively integrates, manages, and analyzes spatial-temporal data, defined as 4D data (2D, 3D, and time change data). In this paper, techniques for integrating and analyzing spatial-temporal data are provided in detail. First, the structures of 4D data and the essence of data integration are explained. A change difference management method for historical data and the homotopical representation of complicated 3D configurations are proposed. Second, the generative aspects of 4D data integration and the real-time monitoring of an integrated database are explained. The effectiveness of the system was verified by applying it to the large-scale infrastructure management of an elevated railway bridge and a sewer optical communication line.

Analysis sharing method by managing provenance of query

Hiromitsu Nakagawa; Keiro Muro

Measured data analysis generally requires a large amount of resources since each analyst individually examines data in their own way. We propose the Query Object Graph Analysis method for enabling analysis sharing among analysts. The proposed method can prevent duplicate processing and data explosion by managing analysis data in unified forms of time-series and range-series and by representing and sharing the analysis procedure as a graph pointing to the analysis data. We evaluated this effect regarding damage analysis of a structure and found that the proposed method can reduce program execution time by 2/3 and the amount of analysis data by 1/3. This makes efficient analysis possible by several analysts using the same data source.

DEVELOPMENT OF A FLOOD SIMULATOR FOR A FLOOD RISK COMMUNICATION TOOL

Satoshi Yamaguchi; Keiro Muro; Kazuaki Iwamura

In this paper, we present a new type flood simulator for flood risk communication. The characteristics of presented simulator are:(1) Calculation speed of flood flow is very fast;(2) It offers a fully interactive user interface;(3) It provides the property damage assessment based on the simulated results;(4) It visualizes the simulated results with three-dimensional cityscapes. The shallow water equations are solved by using a combination of leapfrog scheme and staggered grid to accelerate the flood flow calculation. Meanwhile we develop an execution sequences controlling function that enable parallel processing the visualization of current state of simulated flow as well as the simulation, and it underlies the interactive user interface. Moreover in order to implement these characteristics, we apply four-dimensional Geographic Information System (4D-GIS), which is suitable to manage and to simulate flood events with 3D geographic data and the simulated time sequence. Through an experiment, presented simulator shows a very promising performance, which would significantly improve the flood damage understanding of society.
