Abstract N -Methyl- C -trifluoromethylnitrone cycloadded with various alkynes to give 3-trifluoromethyl-4-isoxazolines. The isolated isoxazolines further underwent the valence rearrangement into 2-trifluoromethylaziridines under more drastic conditions. Unusual stability of both trifluoromethylisoxazolines and -aziridines is discussed on the basis of the electronic effect of trifluoromethyl group.

N-Benzyloxyurea was treated with various β-diketones in the presence of sulfuric acid in EtOH to give the corresponding 1-benzyloxy-2(1H)-pyri- midinones. 1-Benzyloxy-2(1H)-pyrimidinones underwent the ring transfor- mation with hydroxylamine to afford new 5-N-(benzyloxy)urea-attached 2-isoxazolines in addition to known isoxazoles. The MNDO molecular orbital calculation of 1-benzyloxy-4,6-dimethyl-2(1H)-pyrimidinone and the reaction mechanism are also discussed

A Convenient Synthesis of 3-(Aryl)substituted 2,4(1H,3H)-Pteridinediones and Their Absorption and Fluorescence Spectorscopic Characteristics

3-(Aryl)substituted 2,4(1 H,3H)-pteridinediones are synthesized in high yields by addition and simultaneous cyclization of methyl 3-amino-2-pyrazinecarboxylate with isocyanates. The remarkable difference in the reactivity is observed among heterocumulenes. The absorption and fluorescence spectroscopic characteristics of the titled compounds are also discussed

Several Considerations on the Internal Plasticizing Effects of Fatty Acid Vinyl Esters

脂肪酸ビニル(VE)と塩化ビニル(VC)およびアクリロニトリル(AN)との共重合体において,前者は顕著な可塑効果を示すのに対し後者はさして示さないことを既に知ったが,この相違の原因を比較検討した。まず両系の共重合体の密度を測定し,これと各共重合体中の両成分の含有比から計算した仮想重合体混合物の密度との比を求めた。その結果,AN系ではほぼ1.00を,VC共重合体およびフタル酸ジオクチルでは外部可塑化したポリ塩化ビニルはいずれも0.96~0.98を示した。つまりVC系では可塑化成分がポリマー鎖間に介在してポリマー鎖の結合を弛めるのに対し,AN系の場合はほとんどポリマー鎖の結合を弛めていない。またAN系共重合体のX線干渉図から,ポリアクリロニトリルに比べ共重合体においては,結晶の長さは1/2~1/4程度に短かくなるが結晶度はさして変化しないことを知った。これらのことからVEはAN共重合体中に不均一に分布し,可塑効果に乏しいと考えられる。なおこれらの結果をMonomerReactivity Ratioと関連して考察した。

Studies on the Internal Plasticizing Effect by the Copolymerization of Fatty Acid Vinyl Esters with Vinyl Chloride

数種の脂肪酸ビニルエステルと塩化ビニルとの共重合体を調製し, その融点および平行板型プラストメーターによる軟化度試験から, ビニルエステルの内部可塑効果を検討した。これらの結果, 高級脂肪酸のビニルエステルほど軟化効果は大きく,また可塑化成分の同一含有wt%に対しては,フタル酸ジオクチルで外部可塑化したポリ塩化ビニルより共重合系の方が可塑効果が大きいこと,特に軟化度の温度依存性が著しく大きいことを明らかにした。これらの相違は,共重合系の場合は各ポリマー鎖がすべてビニルエステルを含み,これが長い側鎖を張り出してポリマー鎖間の結合を弛めるのに対し,外部可塑系では可塑剤がただ単にポリマー鎖の集団の間隙に入り込むだけで個々のポリマー鎖を可塑化するものではないためと考えられる。
