A silicone obturator for the access canal in an implant-retained fixed prosthesis

Eric D. Adrian; William A. Krantz; John R. Ivanhoe; Kenneth A. Turner

The insertion of a Branemark implant-retained fixed prosthesis involves the obturation of the access canals to the gold screws. This ohturation has been accomplished with a variety of materials that include gutta-percha and IRM (Intermediate Restorative Material, L. D. Caulk Co., Milford, Del.) materia1.l The removal of these obturation materials is tedious and can result in damage to the gold screws and the access canals by their removal with rotary instruments and the lack of protection for the screws and access canal walls. A technique is described that isolates the screws, preserves the canal form, and allows for easy access and removal of the screws.

Multiple cast post and cores for severely worn anterior teeth.

Steven A. Aquilino; Richard D. Jordan; Kenneth A. Turner; James M. Leary

A technique has been presented to simplify the fabrication of multiple direct post and core patterns. When combined with techniques for indirect provisional restorations, this technique merely requires the fabrication of an additional plastic template to form the direct core patterns.

Multiple crowns fabricated for an existing removable partial denture

Richard D. Jordan; Kenneth A. Turner; Thomas D. Taylor

Abstract A technique has been described for the fabrication of multiple crowns beneath an existing removable partial denture.

Temporization of an extensively fractured anterior tooth

Richard D. Jordan; Kenneth Zakaraisen; Kenneth A. Turner

Abstract A technique has been described for making a temporary restoration for an extensively fractured anterior tooth (Fig. 5). The esthetic and functional requirements are met with the acrylic resin and polycarbonate crown. Stability is met primarily with the endodontic file and secondarily with the resin coronal seal of the canal.

Die alteration to provide adequate occlusal clearance

Richard D. Jordan; Kenneth A. Turner

Abstract A technique has been described for fabricating an acrylic resin index to accurately guide a clinical adjustment of incisal or occlusal clearance to that determined in the laboratory.
