Staining porcelain-bonded-to-metal restorations

Kenneth N. Morrison; Myron E. Warnick

Abstract Esthetic porcelain-fused-to-metal restorations are dependent primarily upon sound tooth preparation, careful color selection, and proper manipulation of materials. Discrepancies in color of porcelain fused to metal do occur. However, the use of stains can eliminate many of these deficiencies. Indications, techniques, and precautions in staining porcelain bonded to metal have been described.

Indirect technique for making porcelain inlays

Myron E. Warnick; Kenneth N. Morrison

Abstract An indirect porcelain inlay technique has been described whereby a new refractory investment eliminates the need for a rigid die and a platinum matrix. The simplicity of this procedure should place the porcelain inlay within the capability of any dentist who finds a need for this fine restoration in the treatment of his patients.

Indications and cavity preparation for porcelain inlays

Kenneth N. Morrison; Myron E. Warnick

Abstract Indications and cavity preparation for class III and class V porcelain inlays have been described. In addition, variations of these cavity preparations have been discussed. Because of the use of a combination of a refractory investment and elastic impression materials, the problem of placing durable and esthetic porcelain restorations in anterior teeth can be resolved with satisfaction.
