Middleware Architecture of Hybrid Digital Cable Receiver for Cable Broadcast and IPTV Service based on OCAP

This paper presents a middleware design and architecture for hybrid digital cable receiver (HDCR) which provides both cable broadcast interface and broadband Ethernet interface, and is capable of handling mixed services efficiently including execution of interactive data application which is reusable from existing cable services based on OCAP.

Effective process of signaling information for digital broadcast recording

Signaling information is defined as stream element that indicates events for interactive service. Careful management of signaling information is essential to accomplish satisfying level of interactivity while watching recorded content. For that purpose we propose a scheme to store and utilize signaling information efficiently.
