foam producers to seek environmentally safe alternate foam blowing agents with suitable physical, processing and economic characteristics for the production of a variety of urethane and polyisocyanurate foams. Chlorodifluoromethane, HCFC-22, is a commercially available foam blowing agent with a low ozone depletion potential which is being evaluated as a replacement for CFC-12 in froth foam systems and also as a possible interim replacement for CFC-11 in flexible, integral skin and rigid urethane foam systems until other CFC-11 substitutes, i.e., HCFC-141b and HCFC-123, are proven to be toxicologically acceptable and become commercially available. The experimental studies described in this presentation encompass: blowing agent solubility properties, foam formulation data, processing characteristics and resultant foam properties as well as foam system storage stability, related to the use of HCFC-22 alone and in combination with HCFC-141b in froth and
