«Wer niemals einen Rausch gehabt ...» Ein Brief des Arztes Mnesitheos und ein Kommentar von Magister Bona Fortuna

Die Empfehlung, sich regelmasig einen Rausch anzutrinken, findet sich sowohl in einem Fragment des Athener Arztes Mnesitheos (4. Jh. v. Chr.) wie im handschriftlich erhaltenen Kommentar zum Viaticum des Constantinus Africanus von Magister Bona Fortuna, einem Universitatslehrer des 13. Jh.s, bei ihm sicher vermittelt durch Avicennas Canon. Die Quellentexte von Mnesitheos und Bona Fortuna werden im vorliegenden Artikel ins Deutsche ubersetzt und kurz kommentiert (der lateinische Originaltext von Bona Fortuna ist im Anhang beigegeben). Ferner wird die Uberlieferung des Mnesitheos skizziert, der vor allem als Fachmann fur Diatetik bis in die romische Kaiserzeit groses Ansehen genos und vermutlich medizinische Autoren beeinfluste, die spater ins Arabische ubersetzt wurden.
