Federal-Mogul erhoht mit der DuraBowl-Technologie — einer lokalen Nachbehandlung hochbelasteter Kolbenzonen — die Lebensdauer der Kolben um den Faktor vier bis acht.

The temperatures and pressures in modern day diesel engines are climbing steadily. As a result and in order to have adequate reserves of strength aluminium pistons must feature improved high temperature thermo-mechanical durability. With its DuraBowl technology, the local post-treatment of highly loaded piston regions, Federal-Mogul has been able to increase piston service life by a factor of between four and eight.
