One of the challenges in tank systems lies in integrating ventilation systems into the tank interior, thus reducing the permeation of the tank system and simultaneously offering maximal fuel storage volume. Conventional valve technology comes up against limiting factors here in terms of installation space and cost. To achieve the aforementioned development goal, Siemens VDO Automotive has developed a modular tank ventilation system that can be very flexibly integrated into a wide range of tank forms and allows optimal use of the tank volume for fuel storage.
