Fast Source Location Method Using Anti-reverberant Searching Space Pre-estimation

Source location attracts more attentions in speech communication systems. Multiple signal classification (MUSIC) and time difference of arrival (TDOA) based location methods are two kinds of source localization techniques. However, MUSIC requires a search of whole region of interest (ROI), which is supposed to be computationally expensive. For another, the location accuracy of second group is restricted by the sampling rate of microphones. This paper proposes a new location method which greatly reduce the calculation of steering vector of MUSIC using efficient TDOA preestimate, while still remain super resolution feature of spectral estimation method. Our simulation manifest that such algorithm is efficient both in anechoic chamber and in meeting room. Additionally, the reliable area derived by robust TDOA estimation method will partially improve the location performance of MUSIC algorithm under reverberant and noisy environment
