56.2: Pre-Emphasis Driving for Large Size TFT-LCDs

Recent TFT-LCD panels continue to increase their sizes. When TFT-LCD panels become large, the image data writing into liquid crystal cells becomes a serious issue. This issue is caused by a large RC-delay due to the loads for TFT-LCD panels data-lines. In this paper, we propose a Pre-Empasis Driving which can reduce writing times into liquid crystal cells. Using the proposed driving, writing into pixels for 37 inch panels can be completed within about 1 us.
