Social science and bioethics: morality from the ground up

medicine and the life sciences are asked by our subjects for our opinion about the ‘right’ thing to do, we shudder. That is the old story. Judging the work of our colleagues in other fields by our disciplinary standards is like shooting fish in a barrel. Not only is there no sport in that, there is little to be learned by the exercise.
