Comparative study of the extremity muscle weight of man andMacaca irus

Simian viruses in cynomolgus monkey kidney cell culture were examined in about 100 monkeys from January, 1962, to March, 1962. About one third of the monkeys contained simian virus, all of which showed hemagglutination of the monkey red blood cells. The virus recovery rate was influenced by the lot of monkeys imported to Japan. No difference could be found in the simian virus isolation rate between monkeys from Malaya and monkeys from Vietnam.
