The paper discusses the failure of liquid film in the nanoscale. Pure alkane liquids with different length of carbon chains were used. Experimental results show that the failure of nano-fluid film is related to pressure, speed, molecular length and the molecular polarity. When a small amount of fatty acid is added to the alkane liquid, the failure of nano-fluid film has disappeared under the conditions where failure often encountered.
