Consideration on the enthalpy of mixing of liquid AuSn and AuIn alloys

Abstract The cause of inconsistencies in the enthalpy of mixing of AuSn and AuIn liquid alloys, as measured by various investigators, is discussed. It was concluded that the inconsistencies result mainly from differences attributable to the transformation of the standard state of Au from a solid to a supercooled liquid at temperatures below the melting point of Au.
