5D gravitational waves from complexified black rings

Nora Bretón; Alexander Feinstein; L. A. López

In this paper we construct and briefly study the 5D time-dependent solutions of general relativity obtained via double analytic continuation of the black hole (Myers-Perry) and of the black ring solutions with a double (Pomeransky-Senkov) and a single rotation (Emparan-Reall). The new solutions take the form of a generalized Einstein-Rosen cosmology representing gravitational waves propagating in a closed universe. In this context the rotation parameters of the rings can be interpreted as the extra wave polarizations, while it is interesting to state that the waves obtained from Myers-Perry Black holes exhibit an extra boost-rotational symmetry in higher dimensions which signals their better behavior at null infinity. The analogue to the C-energy is analyzed.

Elastic total cross-sections in an RSIIp scenario

R. Arceo; Omar Pedraza; L. A. López; L. Valencia-Palomo; E. González-Espinosa; G. León-Soto; Stan Kurtz

The total elastic nucleon–nucleus cross-section is calculated at energies up to 600 MeV for the elements 12C, 208Pb, 16O, 9Be, 4He, 2H, 238U and 27Al using a finite electromagnetic potential, which is obtained considering a Randall–Sundrum II scenario modified by the inclusion of p compact extra dimensions. The length scale bound is set in the potential to compare with known experimental data.

Corotating two-body system of identical Kerr sources

I. Cabrera-Munguia; Victoria E. Ceron; L. A. López; Omar Pedraza

Abstract A binary system of equal corotating Kerr sources is studied after deriving the corresponding 3-parametric asymptotically flat exact solution. Both sources are apart from each other by means of a massless strut (conical singularity). In the context of black holes, the analytical functional form of each horizon σ is expressed in terms of arbitrary Komar physical parameters: mass M , angular momentum J (with parallel spin), and the coordinate distance R . Later on, all the thermodynamical properties related to the horizon are depicted by concise formulae. Finally, the extreme limit case is obtained as a 2-parametric subclass of Kinnersley–Chitre metric.

Vacuum force for a massive scalar field in a multiply warped braneworld

Victoria E. Ceron; Héctor H Hernández; L. A. López; Omar Pedraza

We determine the finite temperature Casimir force for a scalar massive field for a pair of parallel plates in a 6D non-factorizable geometry. In this contribution we use the Greens function method to determine the Casimir force. It can be expressed in terms of two four-dimensional Casimir force contributions: one for the zero mode and the other for a tower of massive modes associated with the extra dimensions. An uncertainty band of 10% around the theoretical standard 4D Casimir force was set up, by limiting the effective 4D Casimir force within such band yields the bound k/rz 1.97 × 106 TeV.

Gravitational waves from complexified Myers?Perry black hole

Nora Bretón; Alexander Feinstein; L. A. López

In this contribution we complexify five dimensional stationary solutions to obtain time‐dependent ones. In particular the analytic continuation of the Myers‐Perry black hole is obtained; remarkably, the corresponding time‐dependent solution represents a gravitational wave spacetime with boost and rotational symmetries. We also address the complexification of the Emparan‐Reall black ring solution, in this case a 5D inhomogeneous closed cosmology is obtained.

Time‐Dependent 5D Solutions of the Einstein Equations

L. A. López

In this work are obtained 5D time‐dependent solutions of Einstein equations, one is obtained by means of equiping a cylindrically symmetry solution (JEKK) with a scalar field, then lifting it to a fifth dimension. The other is obtained transforming the Myers‐Perry solution via Wick rotation. The two solutions can be interpreted as gravitational waves in some cases. The singularities and C‐energy are addressed.
