Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry | 2006

Mechanical and thermal properties of cryogels and foamed cryogels produced from aqueous solutions of poly(vinyl alcohol)

L. K. Altunina; B. N. Manzhai; M. S. Fufaeva

The effect of sodium chloride and technical-grade carbon (carbon black) on the mechanical and thermal properties of cryogels and foamed cryogels produced from homogeneous and heterogeneous (foamed) solutions of poly(vinyl alcohol) was studied.

Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry | 2007

Production of foamed cryogels by chemical gas generation in an aqueous solution of poly(vinyl alcohol)

L. K. Altunina; V. N. Manzhai; L. A. Stas’eva; M. S. Fufaeva

Foamed cryogels were produced using the gas liberated in a redox reaction in an aqueous solution of poly(vinyl alcohol). The kinetics of the gas-generating reaction was studied. The mechanical and thermal characteristics of the foamed cryogels obtained were determined.

Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry | 2002

Structural Changes in Cellulose-Containing Materials in the Course of Mechanical Activation

L. K. Altunina; L. P. Gossen; L. D. Tikhonova; E. G. Yarmukhametova

The structure of cellulose-containing materials (powdered cellulose and rice husk) subjected to mechanochemical treatment was studied.

Russian Journal of Applied Chemistry | 2011

Effect of temperature on thiocarbamide isomerization in concentrated aqueous solutions

L. K. Altunina; V. A. Kuvshinov; N. I. Rodionova; T. V. Petrenko; V. D. Ogorodnikov

The reaction of isomerization of thiocarbamide to ammonium thiocyanate in aqueous concentrated solutions at temperatures from 100 to 150°C was studied by UV and NMR spectroscopy, as well as by photocolorimetric and conductometric methods. The isomerization reaction rate constants, activation energy, and isomerization ratio were calculated.
