Abstract The one-pot synthesis of 1-allyl-1-cyano-1-alkenes is easily obtained from 1-allyl-1-trimethylsilylacetonitrile lithium and carbonyl derivatives via a silyl-Wittig-Peterson reaction. Other related compounds are prepared in the same manner.

Abstract Chloroallyllithium and gem -chloro(methyl)allyllithium readily react, via conjugated addition and cyclisation, with α-ethylenic aliphatic tertiary amides to produce, in a “one-pot” reaction, alkyl-substituted 1-amido-2-vinylcyclopropanes.

Abstract The synthesis of new 4,5-dihydrothiazoles (or oxazolez) starting from 2-methylthio-4,5-dihydrothiazoles (or oxasoles) and β,β-disubstituted allylic Grignard reagents has been described. Acidic hydrolysis of many of these heterocycles leads to the corresponding α,α-disubstituted β-ethylenic carboxylic acids.

Abstract The one-pot synthesis of 2-cyano-4-N,N-dimethylaminobut-2-en-1-ols is easily obtained by using allylic lithioanion prepared from 4-N,N-dimethylaminobut-2-ene nitrile and carbonyl derivatives.

Joëlle Laduranty; L. Miginiac
Abstract Allylic Grignard reagents easily react through addition and elimination, with the two methylthio groups of 2,5-bis(methylthio)-1,3,4-thiadiazole, and with the one methylthio group of 5-methylthio-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2(3H)-thione, to lead to symmetrical or unsymmetrical disubstituted derivatives of 1,3,4-thiadiazole.
