Laíssa Eschiletti Prati; Maria Clara Pinheiro de Paula Couto; Andreína da Silva Moura; Michele Poletto; Silvia Helena Koller

This article describes how the four key concepts of the Bioecological Theory of Human Development (process, person, context and time) are present in the Ecological Engagement methodology. The goal is to provide some lines of action that may guide research teams to use this proposal in their projects. A brief comparison is performed between the Ecological Engagement and other methodologies, which value the concept of investigation and have distinct theoretical references. Moreover, other studies that used the Ecological Engagement are presented and discussed in order to establish some common points and to define aspects that may be considered as fundamental characteristics of this methodological proposal.

Maria Clara Pinheiro de Paula Couto; Laíssa Eschiletti Prati; Deusivania Vieira da Silva Falcão; Silvia Helena Koller

This study aims to describe some systemic clinical interventions focused on the treatment of elderly individuals. Four different therapeutics modes are explored: individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy with elder family members, and accessing elder members to help in the family therapy process. Some prototype situations in therapy with elderly individuals are discussed, taking into account some concepts developed in family therapy. The elderly can be perceived by the family, or even by themselves, as a weight or as a resource. On the other hand, successful aging reflects a personal position that is influenced by family relations.

Habilidades sociais na adolescência: psicopatologia e variáveis biosociodemográficas

Jean Von Hohendorff; Maria Clara Pinheiro de Paula Couto; Laíssa Eschiletti Prati

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between social skills, psychopathology and sociodemographic characteristics among adolescents. Participants were 50 adolescents from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil (30 girls and 20 boys, Mage=14 years, SD=1.61) who attended either a public or a private school. The participants answered a sociodemographic questionnaire, the social skills Inventory for Adolescents Del-Prette (frequency and difficulty) and, to assess symptoms of psychopathology, the Self Report Questionnaire 20. Results indicated that there were no differences in the frequency of the social skills investigated with regard to genders, age, type of school attended, and the indication of psychopathology. However, the difficulty score reported on the use of social skills was related with psychopathology. This relationship was further moderated by the type of school. Thus, sociodemographic variables and personal characteristics (such as psychopathology) must be considered in social skills studies.

Re-escolha profissional: relato de experiência de orientação profissional com estudantes do Ensino Normal

Jean Von Hohendorff; Laíssa Eschiletti Prati

Professional guidance programs reach their proposal when they are able to lead individuals to analyze their features and explore aspects of their personality that might influence on the choice process. A program of professional guidance was performed with a group of nine High School students from the fourth grade of teaching practice from a private school in Rio Grande do Sul. This project had the focus on a rather unexplored audience and indicates the importance of practices designed to this group. Through some discussions, it was aimed to arouse students’ interest in professional guidance and reguidance. There were six meetings, in order to discuss subjects such as questions, choices, occupations and family. With this study, it was evidenced that students have some doubts about the inclusion in professional market and also about college, which means a reevaluation of their first professional choice. The project experience was seen as satisfactory by the participants, since the students reported significant gains in this participation. Key words: professional guidance, high school students, school psychology.

Alexei Conte Indursky; Vitor Butkus; Laíssa Eschiletti Prati; Nair Iracema Silveira dos Santos

The present work originated from a project of integration of the School Psychology I and Social Psychology II disciplines, developed at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in the year 2004. Theoretical concepts from the Social Psychology discipline were integrated with the context of a public school from the city of Porto Alegre (RS, Brazil), through the creative eyes of someone observing the field with the post-modern psychology theoretical reference for the first time. Approaching concepts such as institution, bend, enunciation and marks, new viewpoints were formed. The school comes as a starting point to question and broaden the area of Social Psychology and of institutional analysis.
