SICAA: selective interference cancellation with adaptive antennas

Leo Rademacher; Jochen Gossner; Hans Dipl Ing Nottensteiner; Javier Murcia Martinez; Alexander Seeger

A spatial filtering algorithm for the practical case of only two antenna branches is described. Usually only one interferer can be rejected in a few branches so that e.g. two interferers are reduced to some extent. This paper presents a modified spatial filtering technique in the two-interferer case that suppresses the weaker interferer completely and leaves the stronger unaffected. Successive joint maximum-likelihood sequence estimation implicitly cancels the stronger interferer.
