An active driver fatigue identification technique using multiple physiological features

Li Shiwu; Wang Linhong; Yang Zhifa; Qiao Feiyan; Yang Zhongkai

A system that can actively monitor the drivers fatigue level in real time is urgently needed for the prevention of accidents. Support vector machine (SVM) technique is used to identify drivers fatigue based on psychological features, such as EEG and ECG. Drivers fatigue is expressed as alert, mild fatigue, deep fatigue and drowsiness, and they are used as output variables of SVM model. Field experiments are carried out in JiangYan freeway to collect the required data to validate the SVM model. Results show that the model can recognize drivers fatigue levels effectively and recognition precisions of all states are larger than 87.5%.

Research on method for real-time monitoring dynamic vehicle loading based on multi-sensors

Li Shiwu; Tian Jingjing; Sun Wencai; Yang Zhifa; Chen Lu

In view of real-time monitoring dynamic vehicle loading, a nonlinear quarter-vehicle vibration model with two degrees of freedom and four parameters was established. The dynamic performance of suspension under different operating conditions was simulated. The general linear relation of dynamic suspension load and displacement was obtained through phase plane method. According to simulation results, a method for analyzing dynamic vehicle loading based on multi-sensors was put forward. A system of monitoring dynamic vehicle load status was designed and developed, which was installed on a FAW CA1169PK2L2EA80 heavy-duty truck and calibrated. Road tests were fulfilled under A-level road, 30 km/h and pre-set change of position of goods. The results of road tests showed that this method could real-time monitor the change of vehicle loading, which provided a new method of early-warning abnormal vehicle loading status.

Tire impressions image segmentation algorithm based on C-V model without re-initialization

Wang Zhen; Wang Yunpeng; Li Shiwu

In this paper, we present a new tire impressions image segmentation algorithm based on C-V model without re-initialization by introducing an internal energy term that penalizes the deviation of the level set function from a signed distance function into the C-V model. The proposed model can keep the approximately the level set function as a signed distance function during the curve evolution. The level set function can be initialized with general functions that are more efficient to construct and easier to use than the widely used signed distance function in practice and speed up the curve evolution. Therefore, the consuming time to compute a signed distance function from an initial curve in irregular shape is saved. The proposed algorithm has been applied to both printing and collected tire impressions images in the scene with promising results.

Tire-Imprints Image Enhancement Algorithm Based on Wavelet Transformation

Wang Zhen; Li Shiwu; Wang Yunpeng

To improve utilization rate of tire-imprints, a Wavelet-based algorithm for the tire-imprints image enhancement is proposed on the basis of wavelet’s theory in this paper. First, the high frequency (HF) coefficients are distinguished due to signal from those due to noise with the correlation between wavelet levels, then, increases the wavelet coefficient due to signal and suppresses those of noise. Experiment results show that the algorithm can achieve an excellent balance between the enhancement of subtle tire-imprint image detail and the avoidance of noise amplification compared with traditional image enhancement algorithm.

Notice of Retraction The supervision present evaluation and management countermeasures making of road hazardous materials transportation in Jilin Province

Wang Yunpeng; Yang Siqi; Li Shiwu; Kui Hai-lin

In order to strengthen management of road hazardous materials transportation, safeguard public interest and social safety, the influence factors that affect the safety supervision level of hazardous materials transportation are systematically and comprehensively analyzed, then the evaluation index system is formed and the index weight is determined with the analytical hierarchy process method. Furthermore, it uses the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to evaluate the supervision present of road hazardous materials transportation. The evaluation result indicated that the safety supervision level of road hazardous materials transportation in Jilin province is general. To improve the safety supervision level of road hazardous materials transportation, the influence factor weight is calculated and the main influence factor is identified, therefore, the countermeasure and proposal of improving the management level of road hazardous materials transportation in Jilin province are provided for the relevant departments.
