The research status of complex system integrated health management system (CSIHM) architecture

Complex system integrated health management (CSIHM) technology is developed from the fault detecting, isolation and reconfiguration (FDIR) technology; which is the integrated application of the advanced reasoning technology, artificial intelligence technology, sensor technology and information management technology. CSIHM can effectively manage the health states of many kinds of complex system for reducing the maintenance cost of an overall system and make sure the accomplishment of mission and the safety of crews by detecting the system malfunctions earlier and make deal with them automatically. Recent years, most of presented health management models, such as ISHM, IVHM and PHM etc. can be put in the category of CSIHM. This paper firstly presents the goal which CSIHM must be achieved and its activities, and then has an analysis and comparison of some representative CSIHM architectures combining with some typical cases emerged from their development course, at last presents that use the technique of concurrent engineering to conduct the design of CSIHM and the design of complex system managed by CSIHM simultaneously, the design of user interface and the development of core engine is the difficulties and hotspot problems in the research of CSIHM architecture.

Variable probability based bidirectional RRT algorithm for UAV path planning

Since the traditional rapidly-exploring random tree connect (RRT-connect) algorithm cannot be applied to the problem of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) path planning directly, a variable probability based bidirectional RRT algorithm (VPB-RRT) is proposed. The restriction of the turning angle of UAV is joined in the process of generating random points of the programming algorithm, which makes the performance of the track satisfy the conditions for flight. By using this algorithm to identify the probability though rasterizing the planning space and importing the concept of coverage rate, track has been made to satisfy the respects of online time and accuracy of UAV path planning. Compared with the A* algorithm, traditional RRT algorithm and RRT-connect algorithm, the results show that VPB-RRT fully satisfies the requirements of online UAV path planning which with shorter time and higher accuracy.

Small UAV sensor fault detection and signal reconstruction

The method using least squares support vector machine (LS_SVM) and principal component analysis (PCA) for small UAV angular rate sensor failure detection, isolation and reconstruction was proposed. LS_SVM was used to establish the prediction model and sensor fault was diagnosed by generating residuals. PCA was used to isolate the sensor fault signal. According to the detection results, the fault signal could be replaced by the LS_SVM estimation value. The simulation results show that, the signal reconstruction accuracy, can guarantee the UAV flight performance in a safe range, the method was proved to have high reliability and stability.
