Structure optimization of rear door based on side impact of a specific vehicle

The side impact is one of the most important crash types. The rear door of a specific vehicle is open during side impact. An optimization solution is presented by analyzing the opening reason on the basis of design principle of door lock and door dynamic deformation during side impact. The simulation and vehicles verification indicate that the optimized door deformation is reasonable and also the door is not open any longer during side crash.

Analysis of pulse optimization of frontal crash on a specific vehicle

The frontal crash is an important item relating to C-NCAP test and regulations. The vehicle crash pulse has a vital influence on injury value of drivers head and chest in 100% frontal rigid carrier crash. In order to this problem, the vehicle crash pulse is analyzed and a structural optimization solution is presented with regard to a specific vehicle. The peak value of crash pulse can be reduced by optimizing rear fixing bolt on sub-frame and increasing the energy-absorbing efficiency on load path. As a result, the analysis of restraint system indicates that the injury value of drivers head and chest is significantly reduced, thereby achieving the objective of safety development.
