Cu+ and Pt2+ complexes with a p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene fitted with two phosphine pendant arms

Abstract Reaction of 5,11,17,23-tetra-tert-butyl-25,27-dihydroxy-26,28-bis[{N-(2-diphenyl phosphino)phenyl}carboxyamidemethoxy]calix[4]arene with [Cu(CH3CN)4]ClO4 and Pt(COD)Cl2 gave two new complexes (1 and 2, respectively). Their structures were determined by X-ray analysis. Complex 1 has two seven-membered metallo-cycles and complex 2 has one five-membered metallo-cycle.

High-yield calix[4]pyrroles as αβαβ isomers and X-ray structure analysis

Two calix[4]pyrroles as aβaβ isomers were prepared by the reactions of pyrrole with asymmetry ketones in high yields. In addition, two single crystals of calix[4]pyrrole 2 and 2·MeOH were solved by X-ray analysis, which further proved that either in free form or inclusion complex calix[4]pyrrole 2 is aβaβ isomer and adopts 1,3-alternate conformation.

Novel 3-D Network: From the Reaction of Polyamine with Pyromellitic Dianhydride

Abstract Under mild condition the reaction of pyromellitic dianhydride with polyamine in methanol solution results in ammonium carboxylate salts rather than amide polymer. X-ray analysis indicates a manifestation of 3-D network linked by N─H+…O− H─N+ hydrogen bonding for the three ammonium salts, in which the porous spaces are filled with water molecules.

25,27-Bis(2-hydroxyethylthioalkoxyl)-26,28-dihydroxycalix[4]arenes 7–10 were synthesized and the preliminary performance of 7-10 as ionophores for ion-selective electrode was also investigated.

Synthesis and structural analysis of novel supramolecular structures based upon N -(2-pyridyl)-3-pyridinecarboxamide

The transition metal Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes based on N-(2-pyridyl)-3-pyridinecarboxamide have been synthesised and characterised and single crystal analysis indicated that the two mononuclear complexes self-assembled into supramolecular architectures through intermolecular hydrogen bonding and π–π stacking interactions in the solid state.
