Abstract Thirteen species of tanaidaceans have been investigated over a period of one year. For some species the material was too small to offer any information, from others comprehensive enough to permit discussing the biology. The Norwegian distribution is given, with new localities for Leptognathia Longiremis and Typhlotanais tenuicornis. Some species have had their bathymetrical distribution extended by several hundred meters, viz. Leptognathia brevimanu, L. filiformis, Typhlotanais aequiremis and T. brevicornis.

Abstract A new epicaridean parasite of the family Dajidae, Microdajus langi, is described and illustrated. It was found on Haplocope angusta, Leptognathia breviremis and Typhlotanais aequiremis in Raunefjorden, western Norway. This is the first record of Dajidae on tanaidaceans.

Abstract A population of the Iceland scallop (Chlamys islandica) from western Norway is described. Information on the topography and hydrography of the locality and description of the habitat is given. 88 scallops were measured and the results are given. This is the southernmost known population of the Iceland scallop in Europe, but isolated specimens are reported further south.

Abstract The paper deals with the genera Spirontocaris, Lebbeus, Eualus and Thoralus, with eight species (see Contents), their systematic position, and their occurrence along the Norwegian roast. S. lilljeborgi, L. polaris and E. pusiolus are common in the whole area. T. cranchii and E. occultus are frequently found in southern Norway. E. occultus is recorded for the first time from Norway. S. spinus, S. phippsi and E. gaimardii are common in north Norway, having their southern limit in western Norway. A key to the Norwegian species is given, and a short note on the two parasitic isopods found.

Abstract Of the six species mentioned, Cryptocope arcticaHansen, 1886 is new to the Norwegian marine fauna. New Norwegian records are given for four others. Some morphological details of Typhlotanais microchelesG. O. Sars, 1882, are discussed and a lectotype of this species is designated.

Abstract Five specimens of Anatanais normani (Richardson, 1905), one of them ovigerous, were collected SE of Bermuda in floating Sargassum natans. They are compared with Richardsons type material and some important features of this are also described. The main difference lies in the smaller size of the Bermuda specimens. Anatanais lineatus (Nordenstam, 1930) is considered a synonym of A, normani (Richardson).
