Zhao Zilan; Liu Wenying; Xu Peng; Liu Fuchao; Zhou Xichao; Wen Zhiwei

Losses in distribution networks represent the single largest consumption in any power system due to heavily loaded conditions. It plays a role in loss minimization that working out more effective measures to save energy. The application of Analytic hierarchy process(AHP) in the analysis of energy-saving potential for distribution network is proposed, which takes both devices placement and parameters reconfiguration into consideration. The proposed method of energy-saving potential could tap latent potential of losses minimization and give optimism alternatives. The losses in distribution networks reduce to a lower level after the implement of measures and the instance as illustrated in this paper proves the effectiveness of this method.

Application of the combined model in short-term wind power forecasting

Liu Shijian; Han Yongjun; Liu Fuchao

Short-term wind power forecasting plays a major role in wind energy plant operations and the integration of wind power into traditional grid systems. It is the purpose of the present paper to provide a combined model, which is composed of the FFNN (Feed-Forward Neural Network) and LS-SVR (Least Squares Support Vector Regression) model, pertaining to the short-term wind power prediction. In this proposed approach, the FFNN and LS-SVR model can offer wind power predictions using inputs processed by PCA (Principal Component Analysis) respectively and the combined forecasting method is employed to obtain the new forecasting result. Additionally, in order to optimize the LS-SVR model, CSA (coupled simulated annealing) can assist the LS-SVR model achieve optimal performance. Our results indicate that the suggested combined model improves short-term wind power forecasts in comparison with the single models in the combined model and the traditional model.

Wind power consumptive problem in the perspective of energy conservation and emission reduction

Zhang Jianhua; Lei Yanxia; Liu Fuchao; Zheng Jingjing

Wind power is one of the most promising clean energy sources in the 21st century, the development and construction of wind power is of great significance for energy conservation and emission reduction, environmental protection and sustainable development of China. Compared with traditional fossil energy, its environmental benefit is quite remarkable. Chinas wind energy resource is abundant, and Gansu Jiuquan million kilowatts wind power base is the first one of the eight large-scale wind power bases in china. With significant achievements in construction, it is also facing many difficulties in the meantime such as: limited consumptive level, narrow outgoing channel, blocked outgoing capacity. The urgent task of alleviating the consumptive problem of wind power is to enhance the capacity of consuming the wind energy locally in Gansu place. This article describes the wind power situation of Gansu power grid, analyzes the economic benefits of wind power energy saving and emission reduction, and variety of wind power consumptive measures and recommendations have been proposed in the perspective of energy conservation. The Conclusions will provide a reference for introducing new energy policy in energy consumption locally and saving benefits of new energy.
