Two strains of lactic acid bacteria, named as LP and ST,were isolated from kimchi wastewater and anaerobic sludge.According to its morphological and the analysis of 16S rDNA gene sequence, strains LP and ST were identified as Lactobacillus plantatum and Streptococcus thermophilus, respectively. The highest removal rates of NH3 and H2S by L.plantatum were 54.87% and 37.35%,respectively.The highest removal rates of NH3 and H2S by S.thermophilus were 40.99% and 22.47%,respectively.For the mixture of the two strains, the highest removal rates of NH3 and H2S reached 90.74% and 63.58%,respectively.The antagonist and symbiosis experiments showed no antagonistic inhibition between the two strains, but remarkable synergistic effect on deodorization.

In order to study the effects of different additives on the quality of corn stover silage, the corn stover was cut and then ensiled with a certain ratio of lactobacillus and yeast(A), the complex inoculants(B), cellulase(C), urea(D) and corn f lour(E) by using orthogonal experiment design. Based on the evaluation system of sensory properties and silage fermentation quality, the optimal combination of the corn straw silage additives was found to be A3B3C3D1E1, namely, a ratio of 1 : 0 for lactobacillus and yeast, the complex inoculants 0.6%, cellulase 1.0 g/kg, urea 0.3% and corn meal 0%. The analysis of sensory properties, organic acids and microbe number of silage showed a signif icant inf luence of complex inoculant dosage on sensory properties, as well as signifi cant effects of the dosage of cellulase and complex inoculants on lactic acid content(P 0.05). However, none of the factors showed signif icant effect on acetic acid content, yeast or mold number, indicating that the addition of complex inoculants and cellulase promotes the lactic acid bacteria breeding, while the addition of corn f lour and urea has less effect on quality of corn straw silage.
