The quark potential model is extended to include the sea quark excitation using the random phase approximation (RPA). The effective quark interaction preserves the important Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) properties -- chiral symmetry and confinement simultaneously. A primary qualitive analysis shows that the

The explicit expression of the seniority particle operator and its properties in the quasi-spin theory of nuclear physics is presented in this paper. The seniority particle operator can be used to construct D-pair in the microscopic theory of interacting boson model to avoid the seniority mixing problem.

As a successive work a modified D pair independent of the S pair treated in our previous papers is introduced to avoid the seniority mixing problem. The structure amplitudes of this D pair and S pair are determined simultaneously and self-consistently by iteration.

We present an SU(3)F meson mass formula from random phase approximation. Both the mesons of ground-state pseudoscalar octet and ground-state vector octet are described quite well by this mass formula. We also estimate the current and constituent quark masses from the naive quark model and the PCAC relation.
