It discusses its need and its basic pedagogic fundamentals and curricular aims, spelt out in tabular form. There are certain fundamental criteria which are considered in detail, with an example of a primary school curriculum.

A Pedagogic Model of Multi‐mediality

Abstract This article discusses the definition of multi‐mediality and its implications, and looks at the history of media development from ‘word and body language’ through to videodisc and CD‐ROM. It then considers the relationship between media and language and looks at some neurological and communication studies. It follows the development of media through languages, communication models, psychological modalities and cultural systems, situating the use of media with educational functions and discussing the relationships to be established. Strategies are then proposed for the integration of multi‐media elements.
