AbstractIn the course of revising the taxonomy of the family Lamiaceae in the state of Guerrero, Mexico, a new species of Salvia subgenus Calosphace was discovered. Here we present a description and illustration of this new species, Salvia diegoae, and discuss the characters that distinguish it from related species of the genus. Salvia diegoae has white flowers, which are uncommon in subgenus Calosphace. It is related to Salvia leninae of section Nivalis.

ABSTRACT Bouvardia viticella Lorea-Hernández & Lozada-Pérez is described and illustrated. This new species is distinguished by its scandent habit, main stem thick suberose at base, plinerved leaves, white flowers, short corolla tube evenly pubescent within, and corolla lobes densely papillose adaxially. Partial inflorescences and exserted anthers in short-styled flowers place it in Bouvardia Salisbury subg. Bouvardiastrum Schlechtendal, but its relationships below this level are not so clear.

AbstractDuring the study of the Lamiaceae from Guerrero, Mexico, specimens of Lepechinia sect. Glomeratae were found, similar to L. glomerata, but different in having larger flowers that are orange at the base and red at the apex, with a tubular corolla that is invaginated at the base, and widely ovate bracts that are acuminate at the apex. The new species, Lepechinia flammea, is described and illustrated. A key to distinguish the species is included.

Quercus nixoniana is described as a new species from the states of Jalisco, Guerrero, and Oaxaca at Sierra Madre del Sur, Mexico. It is included in Quercus sect. Lobatae Loudon (red oaks) because of the leaves with a terminal seta, the tomentose endocarp, and the base of the pistil- late perianth free, forming a skirt or flange. It re- sembles Q. salicifolia Nee and Q. crispifolia Tre- lease in the lanceolate blade, indument, and canescent acorns. A key for distinguishing the three taxa is included.

ABSTRACT Bouvardia borhidiana Lozada-Pérez is described and illustrated from Guerrero, Mexico. This new species is distinguished by green and glabrous branches, hypocrateriform corolla with a glabrous internal side, and by the pubescent branches of its stigma. Its relation with B. laevis M. Martens & Galeotti is discussed.
