Design for the need of tactile feeling

This paper intends to discuss the potential tactile need of human and resort to design-especially industrial design-to fulfill it, in other words, to rediscover the basic need and encourage people to notice it. Touch feeling may be not only a subordinative consideration in industrial design and we expect the possible popularity of future touch-contented products. The paper consists of four parts: the importance and potential need of touch feeling, the current design research and products connecting touch feeling and the future design trend to satisfy touch feeling. It will be based on observations, interviews of typical people and a questionnaire survey, which intertwine together thus to make the analysis more convincing, to achieve the final result.

Analysis on eating behavior of children and exploration of dining chair design

Nowadays, the requirement and market of children product is accordingly enlarging in pursuit of humanized design. How to design the product which answers for the physical and mental development of children is becoming more and more important. This paper analyzes and sums up the characteristics of eating behavior of children during early childhood as well as their cognitive characteristics by a series of methods such as in situ observation, image acquisition, detailed interviews and questionnaire survey in the point of view of developmental psychology, moreover, this paper classifies the childrens dining chair and manages comparative analysis and finally brings forward the design principle of childrens dining chair.

Research on the mobile phone design semantics based on the NOKIA products

Based on the analysis of NOKIA mobile phone products, the concept of mobile phone semantics is drawn from the semantics perspective in this paper. The symbol theory¿s analysis method is applied, and the classification, deconstruction and reconstruction of NOKIA mobile phone semantics is accomplished, and the general phone semantics is concluded from the research result.

Discussion on design of baby changing station in public place

With the widely using of baby changing station in the public place, its usability is considered greatly important. It is necessary to give convenience in the behavior of nursing for both baby and adult. Through analyzing babys psychological characteristics in the adults nursing behavior, the main features of using baby changing station are researched and analyzed. At last some key factors about how to design baby changing station for public place are concluded in the paper.

The study on the influence of handle shape to the hand based on FEM

There is very high impaction to hand when nailing with air nailer. The shape of handle can affect the stress distribution on hand significantly. Hand fatigue and even hurt may be caused if the poor designed tool is used for long time. The 3D model of hand and handle is imported to ANSYS 10.0 to simulate the stress and strain distribution on hand. The shape of the handle is redesigned according to the simulation result. The result shows that the finite element method can be used in the ergonomical evaluation of handle.

Research on Computer Aided Industrial Design system for pneumatic tools

There are always some problems existed in traditional product development stage of pneumatic tool such as high cost, low efficiency, long developing period and so on. It can improve developing efficiency by using computer aided industrial design (CAID) technology in product development. How to use CAID technology in design of pneumatic tool is discussed in this paper. This research proposes bottom-up design method to support industrial design for pneumatic tool and develops industrial design function system structure. An example of air nailer design is given to explain the function and configuration of ID module including form design, colour design, layout design and ergonomics design, which it can show the whole design process by CAID system.

The community cooperation system based on the universal design

The author first introduces the concept of the community cooperation system, by analyzing the results of the study, explains the background of the system establishment. With the problem how to establish the system, the author introduces the universal design, describes that the system should be designed based on the seven principles of universal design. Finally, the author makes some attempts based on universal design principles.

Kitchenware design is becoming and will always be the focus of the modern society since it is one of the typical aspects that represent life level. Along with developing technology, Chinese cuisine is changing. This paper intends to discuss the design trends of kitchenware in modern Chinese families based on contrast of dietetic cultures between China and western countries as well as on people¿s lifestyles and needs. It can be divided into four parts: the background and importance of the kitchenware industry towards the Chinese market, the major dissimilarities in dietetic culture between China and western countries, features of Chinese dietetic culture and western dietetic culture, the possible kitchenware design direction.
