Numerical calculation of the effect of the induction machine load on the air gap magnetic flux density distribution

Jan Laksar; Jan Sobra; Lukas Veg

The subject of this paper is the calculation of the induction machine air gap flux density distribution. Following previous paper, the parameters affecting the distribution are integrated to create the final no-load flux density distribution. The no-load calculations are valid for every type of winding and can be applied to almost every type of electric machine. To calculate the flux density distribution in loaded condition, the magnitude and phase shift of the rotor current have to be calculated. The rotor magnetomotive force reaction distribution is calculated according to the stator calculations. Based on the equivalent circuit of the machine, the flux density distribution of variable load condition can be calculated. All numerical results are compared with the finite element analysis calculations and the distribution and spectral analysis of the air gap flux density are evaluated in this paper.

Equivalent Magnetic Circuit Method Usage in the Synchronous Reluctance Machine Rotor Design

Jan Laksar; Pavel Svetlik; Lukas Veg

The subject of this paper is the proper calculation of the magnetic field in the inner flux barrier synchronous machine rotor by the usage of the equivalent magnetic circuit method. The method is applied on the two pole machine and its accuracy depends on the complexity of the magnetic circuit model. The nonlinear BH curve of the electric steel is approximated by a continuous function. Then magnetic fluxes of all paths are calculated. The equivalent magnetic circuit method enables the group calculation of different flux barrier arrangement and finding the best initial solution which can be then optimized by the finite element analysis.

High-Speed Electrical Machines: Review of Concepts and Currently Used Solutions with Synchronous Machines with Permanent Magnets

Lukas Veg; Pavel Svetlik; Jan Laksar

The subject of presented paper is review of currently used high-speed machines with focusing on synchronous machines with permanent magnets and their applications. In the paper are highlighted some special case of use these machines. There is mentioned problems with controlling of these machines and is added the description of changing the type of switching signals. Further are presented some special design arrangements and their comparison with other types of high-speed machines and mentioned their advantages and disadvantages.

Design of the power series based on traction induction motor

Jan Laksar; Lucie Hornikova; Lukas Veg

The power series described in this paper are designed while preserving the cross-section of the machine. All basic approaches to create the series are discussed and the suitable elements of the series are chosen. Finally, the properties of the selected motors are compared, especially the parameters of the equivalent circuit.

The effect of different rated voltages on the properties of a synchronous generator

Lukas Veg; Karel Hruska; Jan Laksar; Lucie Hornikova

The article deals with the influence of different voltage levels on the design and properties of a synchronous generator with salient pole rotor. It presents two parallel designs of mostly identical synchronous generators with different rated voltages. Depending on results of both designs the designed generators are compared with focus on their working parameters, cooling conditions and material consumption.
