Shape is an important aspects in recognizing plants. Several approaches have been introduced to identify objects, including plants. Combination of geometric features such as aspect ratio, compactness, and dispersion, or moments such as moment invariants were usually used toidentify plants. In this research, a comparative experiment of 4 methods to identify plants using shape features was accomplished. Two approaches have never been used in plants identification yet, Zernike moments and Polar Fourier Transform (PFT), were incorporated. The experimental comparison was done on 52 kinds of plants with various shapes. The result, PFT gave best performance with 64% in accuracy and outperformed the other methods.

This paper proposed a method that combines Polar Fourier Transform, color moments, and vein features to retrieve leaf images based on a leaf image. The method is very useful to help people in recognizing foliage plants. Foliage plants are plants that have various colors and unique patterns in the leaf. Therefore, the colors and its patterns are information that should be counted on in the processing of plant identification. To compare the performance of retrieving system to other result, the experiments used Flavia dataset, which is very popular in recognizing plants. The result shows that the method gave better performance than PNN, SVM, and Fourier Transform. The method was also tested using foliage plants with various colors. The accuracy was 90.80% for 50 kinds of plants.

There is many ways to detect the moving object. A common method is by comparing two or more image sequences. Comparing image by analysing all of image pixel is known as frame differences method. Template matching is a technique that used to determine the reference image. Reference image that determined dynamically is known a dynamic template matching. This research proposes an algorithm to determine the reference image by using dynamic template matching adaptively. In the system, there are three ways to determine the reference image base on environment condition. This algorithm is implemented using web-based system and IP Camera as the capturing device. The algorithm provides detection accuracy of 95.5%.

Most of people likes living independently at home. Some activity in our daily life is prone to have some accidents, such as falls. Falls can make people in fatal conditions, even death. A prototype of fall detection system using accelerometer and gyroscope based on smartphone is presented in this paper. Accelerometer and gyroscope sensors are embedded in smartphone to get the result of fall detection more accurately. Automatic call as an alert will be sent to family members if someone using this application in fatal condition and need some help. This research also can distinguish condition of people between falls and activity daily living. Several scenarios were used in these experiments. The result showed that the proposed system could successfully record level of accuracy of the fall detection system till 93.3% in activity daily living and error detected of fall was 2%.

Abstract To determine whether the inclusion of conditions in neighbouring villages and infrastructure interdependency are able to improve the performance of infrastructure–economy interaction models, we compare three related and progressive concepts. The first concept defines economic opportunity in a village as a function of available infrastructure within that village. The second concept includes the effect of economic opportunity in neighbouring villages in addition to available infrastructure within the village. In the third concept, we include the interdependency of infrastructures as another factor affecting the potential level of economic development in the village. We use Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) and a Geographic Information System (GIS) to model the first concept, and we add a spatial-lag model for the second. The third model expands on the second by introducing a Sugeno Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) and a rule-based OLS to capture the nature of infrastructure interdependency. The result of the three models is validated by a known spatial distribution of poverty levels and subjective well-being that serve as proxies for economic opportunity in the Yogyakarta region in Indonesia. The results demonstrate that the third model provides a more accurate prediction of the real conditions and performs consistently better than the other two models. We therefore conclude that conditions in neighbouring villages and infrastructure interdependency influence the economic opportunity of a village and should be considered in policy making regarding resource allocation in infrastructure development.

Software agent system so far has been developed using object-oriented (OO) approach. In fact, OO analysis and design can not fully model mobile agent system. The main problem is crosscutting concerns (CCC) which makes modularization of program can not be clean. Aspect-oriented (AO) approach offers a solution for CCC problems in OO approach. This paper discusses AO approach used to modify an OO agent framework. Architectural design of agent system is proposed to be a fundamental solution. The design started from architectural level to get a comprehensive models. Transformation process from architectural level into implementation level in development of agent framework becomes an important part in the discussion to express clean model. A method that can be implemented to develop agent framework is by using AO to OO refactoring. The refactoring will transform OO agent framework into AO agent framework. The result of research get a zero average clone size (ACS). It showed that the design can be implemented cleanly at implementation level.

Web design is one of several critical factors for the acceptance and success of an e-commerce website. A good web design influences users satisfaction and intention to use the website. The purpose of the study was to determine criteria for personalized e-commerce with a method recommended by users in using an e-commerce. This study used a qualitative method to analyze three components of web design i.e. information, navigation, and visual designs. Data collection was performed using in-depth interview technique on participants who have been familiar with online transactions. Data showed that participants preferred navigation and information designs rather than visual design.

Augmented reality becomes mature enough to create various applications for end users especially in education field. This is also supported by the presence of more affordable smart phones. The features offered by augmented reality applications could make students more easily understand the lessons and the learning process more fun. Most of current augmented reality applications still present information that is always the same from time to time, there is no personalization in order to obtain an appropriate learning experience for each student. Most of the studies concentrate on the aspect of personalization assures that agents approach is needed to make the learning experience more personal and exciting. This paper aims to review the literature concerning augmented reality agents, its earlier and possible usages in educational setting.

In the era of pervasive and ubiquituous computing, the scope of computer applications is no longer restricted to traditional data processing. Pervasiveness and ubiquity imply that environment is a significant factor in computation. Context is an abstraction of environmental elements that has influence in defining the behavior of an application. Context-aware computing has been developing rapidly in these days, particularly in the aspects of contexts promotion and applications. This paper describes context-aware computing and its applications at three different layers: conceptual, implementation, and application. Context is modeled as a measurable and representable entity. Context-awareness is built on top of a reactive mechanism, which guides the implementation using development tools that have the capability of working with events and asynchronous execution. A generic perspective for examining application of context-awareness is also presented.

Nowadays, implementation of interoperability in eGoverment services become more important and larger,. As of reference, interoperability is connection of different systems, information and schema of working, in among different administrations which running together and could be applied around the world. Interoperability is implemented in eGoverment with various form that distinctive each other. Interoperability is very important in supporting eGoverment for achieving a good service. eGoverment applied interoperability schema to give a lot of service for the citizen and to achieve a one-stop government in a country. In addition, eGoverment services based interoperability is a part requirement for designing and implementing various eGovernment applications for certain goal. Today, Interoperability composed of heterogenity and dynamic data sources in a transaction. Therefore, in this paper we propose a novel approach to solve interoperability in eGoverment services with heterogeneous data source by using adaptive ontology schema.
