There exists a widespread interest in the application of gas turbine Power Augmentation Technologies (PATs) in both electric power generation and mechanical drive markets. This interest is attributable to liberalization in the power generation sector, increased electric rates during peak demand period and need for a proper selection of the gas turbine in a given application.In the Part I of this study, a comprehensive literature review of the current technologies — investigating analytical, experimental, and practical aspects — is provided. Moreover, a schematic comparison, useful for the PATs selection, will be presented and discussed.Copyright
