Increased sensitivity to pentobarbital in rats fed a diet lacking flavonoids.

M. Földi; Ethel Földi-Börcsök

Pentobarbital-sensitivity is highly increased in rats fed a diet lacking flavonoids; sleeping time was found to be increased by 42 and 30% as compared with rats fed a normal diet. These studies confirm our previous statement according to which for the rat, benzopyrones are vitamins.

Treatment of experimental vasogenic cerebral edema with benzopyrones.

Ethel Földi-Börcsök; M. Földi

Vasogenic cerebral edema was induced in rabbits by cold injury. Benzopyrone treatment, started 15 min after freezing, significantly reduced both brain edema and the increased permeability of the blood-brain barrier. On the other hand benzopyrone-treatment was without any effect in cytotoxic brain edema induced in rats by triethyl tin poisoning.

The Treatment of Experimental Lymphedema

Ethel Földi-Börcsök; J. R. Casley-Smith; M. Földi

It has been shown previously, by plethysmographic measurements, that experimental lymphedema can be treated successfully by administration of coumarin and by massage. The present study confirms this f

Lymphatic porosity as a consequence of complex vitamin B deficiency in the rat

Ethel Földi-Börcsök; M. Collard; M. Földi

Lymphatic porosity was produced by feeding rats a diet, lacking from the vitamins of the B group. Coumarintroxerutin (Venalot®) treatment has been found to prevent this abnormality. Pathophysiologic a

Lymphostase und Vitamine

M. Földi; Ethel Földi-Börcsök

In the first part of the present work, experimental data are produced showing that a correlation does exist between lymphostasis and vitamins, both in connection with lymphoedema of the subcutaneous t

Permeability of the blood-brain-barrier in lymphostatic encephalopathy combined with complex vitamin B deficiency. The protective effect of vitamin (factor) P treatment

Effect of External Lymph Drainage and of Coumarin Treatment on Dextran Edema

Ethel Földi-Börcsök; M. Földi

A significant protective effect is afforded against dextran oedema by external thoracic duct cannulation; the protective effect of coumarin is even more pronounced. The theoretical background of these
