Search for heavy Majorana neutrinos in μ±μ±+jets and e±e±+jets events in pp collisions at √s =7 TeV

TeV for quarkonium rapidity |y| < 2.4. Differential cross sections and nuclear modification factors are reported as functions of y and transverse momentum pT, as well as collision centrality. For prompt J/ψ with relatively high pT (6.5 < pT < 30 GeV/c), a strong, centrality-dependent suppression is observed in PbPb collisions, compared to the yield in pp collisions scaled by the number of inelastic nucleon-nucleon collisions. In the same kinematic range, a suppression of non-prompt J/ψ, which is sensitive to the in-medium b-quark energy loss, is measured for the first time. Also the low-pT

Dijet Azimuthal Decorrelations in pp Collisions at √[s]=7 TeV

The polarizations of the Υ(1S), Υ(2S), and Υ(3S) mesons are measured in protonproton collisions at √ s = 7 TeV, using a data sample of Υ(nS) → μ+μ− decays collected by the CMS experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb−1. The dimuon decay angular distributions are analyzed in three different polarization frames. The polarization parameters λθ, λφ, and λθφ, as well as the frame-invariant quantity λ̃, are presented as a function of the Υ(nS) transverse momentum between 10 and 50 GeV, in the rapidity ranges |y| < 0.6 and 0.6 < |y| < 1.2. No evidence of large transverse or longitudinal polarizations is seen in the explored kinematic region. Submitted to Physical Review Letters c

Search for anomalous tt production in the highly-boosted all-hadronic final state

Measurements of inclusive W and Z boson production cross sections in pp collisions at sqrt(s)=7 TeV are presented, based on 2.9 inverse picobarns of data recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC. The measurements, performed in the electron and muon decay channels, are combined to give sigma(pp to WX) times B(W to muon or electron + neutrino) = 9.95 \pm 0.07(stat.) \pm 0.28(syst.) \pm 1.09(lumi.) nb and sigma(pp to ZX) times B(Z to oppositely charged muon or electron pairs) = 0.931 \pm 0.026(stat.) \pm 0.023(syst.) \pm 0.102(lumi.) nb. Theoretical predictions, calculated at the next-to-next-to-leading order in QCD using recent parton distribution functions, are in agreement with the measured cross sections.
