This paper presents power quality analysis of a distributed generation system consisting of Photovoltaic (PV) - Inverter system as the renewable source connected to a network of Adjustable Speed Drives (ASDs) as the load. A small-scale laboratory consists of Photovoltaic, Inverter, ASDs and loads system was setup. Two power supplies from PV and grid were connected to two ASDs which powered two separate induction motors. Load of motor 1 was fixed while load of motor 2 was varied. In the experiment, both energy supplies from the grid and photovoltaic system were connected to the loads. Measurements have been done at both side of power transformer to analyze power quality in the system.

Harmonic analysis of a network of Adjustable Speed Drives (ASDs) has been experimentally investigated. A small-scale laboratory of the network of two ASDs connected to two induction motors was setup. Load of motor 1 was fixed while load of motor 2 was varied. In the experiment, measurements have been done at both side of power transformer to analyze power system harmonic.

This paper presents a MATLAB/Simulink simulation of a photovoltaic (PV) energy conversion system using a single-phase, single-stage grid-tied PV inverter. Simulation aim to show the role of each component in the system, allowing detailed analysis of both voltage and current output of the photovoltaic inverter with varying input parameters and control commands.

This paper presents efficiency analysis of a distributed generation system consisting of Photovoltaic (PV) – Inverter system as the renewable energy source connected to a network of Adjustable Speed Drives (ASDs) as the load. A small-scale laboratory of the Photovoltaic, Inverter, ASDSs and Loads system were setup. Two power supplies from Photovoltaic (PV) and grid were connected to two ASDSs with two separate induction motors. Measurements were recorded from which the interaction between the source and the load in this system can be analyzed. Analysis of the result was carried out in which results of both experiments were compared. Furthermore, the worst and best case operating scenarios were indentified from which base-line information for optimum operating conditions is achieved.
