Organización y funcionamiento de las unidades municipales de medio ambiente de la región metropolitana, chile

Opinion polis had been done with the purpose of determine the organization, administration and functional reality of the environment units (UMMA) from the 52 counties in Metropolitan Region, Chile. These polis were directed to the managers of each unit responsible to solve the countys environmental problems. Its achieved to determine that the 52 counties from Metropolitan Region have at least one person in charge of any kind of activity related to these problems, but only 46 of them has a recognize organic unit. Even though, environmental problems have increased their importance, its necesaariy to create more ecient management, decision power and control that allow.s the optimization of sustainable development.

Fecundidad de la chinchilla (Chinchilla laniger gray) macho de criadero.

In male chinchillas of commercial flocks fertility demographic indexes were studied in order to asses its reproduction capacity. The data were obtained from the registries of two commercial flocks of the Metropolitan region of Chile. These flocks were very similar in their management. The mean general rase fertility was 3.06 live births by male in a year. The greatest speciflc fertility rase was observed in animals aged from 1.5 to 5.5 years. The total fertility rate showed that the mean offspring of a mate chinchilla was 51 live births during his life, 27 of them were male live births. The sex rase at birth was 111 males by 100 females and the sex rate during the reproduction age was 59 males by 100 females.

Virus influenza equina. Adaptación de aislados nacionales a cultivos celulares y aplicación de la prueba de seroneutralización

Chilean, strains of equine influenza virus halve different behavior in tissue cultures. Strain A/ equi/1/Santiago 77 (H7 N7) produces constant and specific cytopathic effect in MA-104, EFK and CEF cells. Strain A/equi/2/Santiago 85 (H3 N8) does not produce cytophatic effect in the same cells. Seroneutralization (SN) test was similar to hemagglutination inhibition (HAI) test when measure specific antibody titres against strain A/equi/I/Santiago 77 (H7 N7). Further more, SN test presents similar average titres, significant correlation and a similar sensitivity than HAI test. It is concluded that SN test may be used in diagnosis and research of equine influenza virus, strain A/equi/1/Santiago 77 (H7 N7), instead of HAI test with the additional advantage of measuring protective antibodies.
