A Boost Power Factor Correction (PFC) Converter employing Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) based Compound Active Clamping (CAC) technique is presented in this paper. An Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) Filer is connected at the line side of the proposed converter to suppress Electro Magnetic Interference. The proposed converter can effectively reduce the losses caused by diode reverse recovery. Both the main switch and the auxiliary switch can achieve soft switching i.e. ZVS under certain condition. The parasitic oscillation caused by the parasitic capacitance of the boost diode is eliminated. The voltage on the main switch, the auxiliary switch and the boost diode are clamped. The principle of operation, design and simulation results are presented here. A prototype of the proposed converter is built and tested for low input voltage i.e. 15V AC supply and the experimental results are obtained. The power factor at the line side of the converter and the converter efficiency are improved using the proposed technique.

ABSTRACT Application of renewable energy systems has a drastic impact on the present power system. In particular, solar photovoltaic power generation is expanding exponentially. Hence, in this article analysis and design of a 1 Mega Watt (1 MW) solar power plant has been modelled. The obtained power is given as an input to the voltage source converter, which contently regulates the active and reactive power by controlling the pulse width modulation signals. In this article, robust control schemes were discussed to support the required active and reactive power. Further, a detailed analysis has been presented at various fault conditions and the results are explored.

This paper deals with comparison of open loop system CLL & LCL type of DC-to-DC converters for stand-alone wind energy system. The CLL resonant inverter system and DC- to-DC converter system are simulated using MATLAB simulink power system blocks. These converters have advantages like reduced transformer size, reduced filter size and current source characteristics. The Simulink circuit models for both systems are developed and they are used for simulation studies. The simulation results are compared with the analytical results.

In this paper, the issues of Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) and its suppression in a Power Electronic System is presented. Different noises especially common mode noise and differential mode noise are analysed. A Boost PFC circuit employing ZVT technique is analysed and then an EMI filter is designed in the input side of PFC converter to protect the converter from the line side Electro magnetic Interferences. The prototype of proposed EMI filter is built for the PFC Converter.
