MICROWAVE ACTIVATED DIELS-ALDER CYCLOADDITION REACTIONS OF 1, 2-DIFLUORO-1-CHLOROVINYLPHENYLSULFONE

Madabhushi Sridhar; K.Leela Krishna; K. Srinivas; Jampani Madhusudana Rao

Abstract Diels-Alder Cycloadditions of 1,2-difluoro-1-chlorovinylphenylsulfone with cyclopentadiene, furan and 1,3-diphenylisobenzofuran are studied under thermal and microwave activation conditions. Microwave heating is found to be more efficient method for condensation of fluorinated dienophile with dienes.

Regiospecfic dihydroindoles directly from β-arylethylamines by photoinduced set reaction: one pot "wavelength switch" approach to benzopyrrolizidines related to mitomycin

Ganesh Pandey; Madabhushi Sridhar; U. T. Bhalerao

Regiospecific highly substituted indole derivatives are synthesised by photoinduced SET initiated cyclisation of β-arylethylamines and development of sequential one pot approach to benzopyrrolizidines related to mitomycin at two different wavelengths under SET conditions is reported.

Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid promoted Dakin–West reaction: An efficient and convenient synthesis of β-acetamido ketones

Ravindra M. Kumbhare; Madabhushi Sridhar

AbstractTrifluoromethanesulfonic acid promoted efficient condensation of an aromatic aldehyde with an acetophenone and acetonitrile in the presence of acetylchloride as an activator producing β-acetamido carbonyl compounds is described. Graphical Abstractβ-Acetamido carbonyls were synthesized by triflic acid promoted Dakin-West reaction of aryl aldehydes, aryl ketones and acetonitrile.
