In recent years, more efficient and positive use of current water resources together with global warming becomes important. New technologies and ideas have been developed for many years to optimal use of water resources especially in agricultural field. Growers irrigate their own areas uniformly. However demand of water, fertilizer and agricultural chemicals are different for each trees or crops depending on plant ages and chemical content of soil. Determination of water demand for crops and trees is important to protect fresh water resources. In this study, a prototype of solar powered, low cost, remote controlled real time monitoring irrigation system was designed to control drip irrigation. Software (ValCon, developed by authors with C# language in Visual Studio.Net 2008 editor) was developed to control irrigation valve and monitor water content of soil. Control method of irrigation (automatic or manual) can be selected by users. Only water content of soil was monitored. Nevertheless by using sensors which measure other features of water or air, it is also possible to extend the designed system. Remote controlled site-specific irrigation scheme prevents moisture stress of trees and salification besides providing the efficient use of fresh water resources. Also, this irrigation method removes labour that is needed for flooding irrigation

—In this study, a buck converter and a driver has been designed for Linear Switched Reluctance Motor (LSRM) with 6/4 poles, 3 phases, 250W. LSRM controlled by PIC 18F452 microcontroller was used to drive automatic door. Motor was controlled more accurate with linear incremental encoder by sensing acceleration and movement direction of door.

This paper presents low-cost velocity and position control of a double-sided linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM). This investigation gives a detailed presentation of modeling, simulation and experimental results as well as open and closed loop controls. In addition, control strategy was achieved by the help of proportional-integrator (PI) controller in order to ensure smooth motion with highly reduced position and force oscillations. For low-cost purposes, PIC18F452 control board and inverter-based MOSFET are used. This simple approach helps to integrate the actuator in high precision industrial applications. Comparison between simulation and experiment results gives a good agreement.

It is essential to convert the energy obtained with photovoltaic panel from low efficiency to maximum possible efficiency. For this reason, the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method is generally used in both theoretical and practical applications. The main purpose of MPPT is to ensure to get the energy conversion with the highest efficiency in the selected converter and inverter topologies. In this study, Cuk, buck-boost and sepic converters fed by solar panels and controlled by PI-controlled MPPT are examined and their performances compared by Matlab Simulink© in order to determine which is the most efficient in converting the energy with photovoltaic systems to its maximum possible level. In the simulation, after modelling the designed systems according to the varying irrigation and temperature ratios during the day, the efficiencies of each converter are compared.

Abstract nowadays, the reliabilities of unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) are often questionable because of their importance and widespread usage. at this point, one of the major problem areas is data link system of uavs. in this paper, an alternative image transmission method based on the secure hypertext transfer protocol (HTTPS) protocol has been developed using Raspberry Pi 3 and Picamera module to ensure a secure data link. to evaluate this method, four alternative methods in the literature are identified and a novel comparison manner, which is numerical, flexible, objective, measurable and independent from person, is created by using multi-criteria decision-making methodology based on risk analysis, called risk based multi criteria decision making for UAV data link systems. the multi criteria decision making method is chosen as an appropriate method for comparison and decision-making. however, as a unique approach, risk analysis methodology is used to determine the criteria and weights of criterias as inputs of decision making method.

This paper presents a real-time speed control for a linear tubular permanent magnet direct current motor (LTPMDCM) by using artificial neural network (ANN). Firstly, a novel form of LTPMDCM prototype has been developed for linear motions. Then, a low cost motor drive has designed for expected rapid response and precise position control. Software developed in MATLAB environment is used for speed control. Through this software, real-time speed control of the motor with ANN has been performed. The effectiveness of the proposed control system is verified by experimental results and presented.

In this study, a mainboard was designed for solar energy control with PC data acquisition system. The released system included forty-eight pieces of PV panels, 1.92 kW BLDC and eight pieces of 65 Ah batteries. The buck type DC-DC converter was controlled to charge battery depending on its voltage and current scheme. The BLDC motor was coupled to a pump and a MOSFET was used as motor run/stop switch for automatic working. This system was applied to irrigation in Turkey that it is consist of 1000 pieces of dwarf cherry tree. The controller had communication with PC and DAQ card. All analog values of system (currents, voltages, temperatures, etc.) send to PC with RS-232 and DAQ with reading analog values.

In this study, Genetic Algorithm (GA) was used for determining best PID parameter for speed and position controller of linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) under different load and distance profiles. On the linear movement, the control parameters for precision control are needed to update, depending on distance and load. The LSRM has nonlinear model that it is hard to define PID parameter with calculation. GA is best way to find PID parameter to control velocity. The GUI was developed and applied the LSRMs parameters are changeable.

This paper presents a low-cost positioning application based on Linear Switched Reluctance Motor (LSRM). The Design, modeling and experimental results of the motor are detailed and presented in this study. The proposed control strategy is based on Sliding Mode Control (SMC) to control the velocity. PIC18F452 and MOSFET inverter are designed and developed for the implementation of the proposed controls strategy. This solution is characterized by its low-cost thing that can help to implement this actuator more frequently in industrial application. The accuracy and quality of the positioning prove the effeteness of the proposed control strategy. Experimental results show a good correspondence with theoretical and simulation studies. It was seen that problems of force and displacement ripples of the LSRM are solved.

In this study, an educational tool was prepared for a direct current (DC) motor, proportional (P), integrated (I) and derivative (D) speed controller with a shorter term and more economic education of the control systems. Parallel with the improvements of industrial technology, the development of computer and control technology has magnified the importance of either the theoretical or practical education of the motor speed control. The education of motors speed control in laboratory is very important, but this education is usually difficult because of a lot of abstract equations, difficult motor dynamic models and PID parameters. To overcome the mentioned negativities, an education tool was prepared for the education of DC motor speed control with PID controller. The tool which was prepared on C# environment has a flexible structure and a graphical interface. It has enabled the analysis of working principles of the P, PI, PD and PID control and traceability of the system response by the help of graphics, under different conditions created by changing the values of PID parameters. Besides, the motor could control the motor speed and reference speed and the changed PID parameters can be observed in the distance space over the internet.
