Reductive degradation of the herbicide isouron by various bacteria

種々の細菌は5%酵母エキス培地で静置培養すると除草剤イソウロンを還元的に分解して 1-(1-amino-4,4-dimethyl-3-oxo-1-pentenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea に変換した. 最も強い分解能を示したのは Pseudomonas aeruginosa (No. 48) であり, 3日間の培養でイソウロンを代謝した. P. putida, P. fluorescens, B. subtilis, B. thuringiensis, S. aureus, E. coli および土壌より分離した7株の細菌などはいずれも10日前後の培養を必要とした. S. lutea および E. carotovora は2週間以上の培養で同様な分解を示した. しかしながら, これら細菌も5%肉エキス培地で培養すると十分な増殖が認められるにもかかわらずイソウロンの還元的分解はほとんど起きなかった. イソウロン分解に酵母エキスに含有する微量成分の関与が示唆された.
