Management education in Italy can be traced to the early sixties, when the post War World II reconstruction prompted a relaunch of the national economy with an impressive level of industrial development (often referred to as the “Italian boom”).

Managerial Flow and the execution of economic development policies. A cross – country perspective

Globally, despite the political economic model chosen and the debate about the most adequate forms of public support to businesses and the size of “intervention”, Governments at all institutional level are stretched towards economic development achievements. However, development policies are complex, ambiguous and uncertain and more frequently than not they fail due to poor implementation management. Therefore, both scholars and managers are asking for empirical based research able to create value for policy makers and managers. The Managerial Flow model, developed across several AoMs PDW, observes the phenomenon of policy implementation for economic development through a managerial lens.
