The verbalization of autism is considered echolalia: A meaningless repetition of a part or all of the speech of others, without context, without change to the structure, devoid of individuality. However, for over a year, we observe the language of an autistic child, who underwent speech therapy at the Association for the Disabled Peixinhos ADEPE, Olinda, Pernambuco and found changes in echolalia characterized by displacement of meaning, marked by changes in the processes of language. The approach movement and distance of the childs utterances to the context allowed us to rethink the echolalia considering it greatly, as seed for the formation of language.
