Diagnóstico diferencial de envejecimiento patológico. Desempeños en el Addenbrooke's Cognitive Examination (ACE)

The objective of this research is to determine the percentage of adults that show a certain tendency to suffer from frontotemporal dementia (FTD) or Alzheimer’s disease (AD) from the scores obtained in the VLOM coefficient, and if these values may vary according to gender, level of education and history of illness. The study was carried out with 649 adults from Rio Cuarto, Cordoba, Argentina with the application of the ACE (Addenbrooke’s Cognitive Examination) instrument of Mathuranath et al., (2000) in an adapted version. A chi-squared analysis was made, together with average comparision and Anova, to establish whether there are differences in scores in the instrument by groups. The results show that there are no significant differences by gender, but certain tendencies stand out according to age, level of education and history of illness.
