Organometallics alkylthiolate-bridged manganese cubanes

Marisol Reyes-Lezama; Rubén A. Toscano; Noé Zuñiga-Villareal

Abstract The thermal reaction of tricarbonyl-η 5 -pentadienylmanganese 1 , with mercaptans RSH leads to the corresponding tetramers [MnSR(CO) 3 ] 4 (R = penyl 2 , furfuryl 3 , and phenethyl 4 )S synthetic and spectroscopic aspects, as well as the single crystal X-ray structure of 3 , are discussed.

A mixed-valence dimanganese complex synthesized from the [Ph2P(O)NP(O)Ph2]− anion with [BrMn(CO)5]

Noé Zúñiga-Villarreal; Marisol Reyes-Lezama; Georgina Espinosa-Pérez

Abstract The reaction of the [Ph2P(O)NP(O)Ph2]− anion with [BrMn(CO)5] in refluxed dichloromethane afforded the mixed-valence complex [Mn2(CO)3{Ph2P(O)NP(O)Ph2-μ-O,O′}3] (1). The single-crystal X-ray analysis of 1 shows that its overall geometry can be regarded as confacial octahedral–trigonal prismatic. The six-membered MnO2P2N rings adopt a twisted-boat conformation. Although the distance between the metal centers, 3.160 A, is rather short, we discard a formal bonding interaction since the fragment Mn(CO)3 fulfills the 18e− rule with coordination to two oxygen atoms and a covalent interaction with a third oxygen atom.

A new ligating mode for the anions of the type [R2P(S)NP(S)R2]−: study of the interaction of [K{Me2P(S)NP(S)Me2}] with the early transition halometalcarbonyl, [BrMn(CO)5]

Noé Zúñiga-Villarreal; Marisol Reyes-Lezama; Georgina Espinosa

Abstract The thermal reaction of [BrMn(CO)5] with [K{Me2P(S)NP(S)Me2}] afforded the dinuclear complex [Mn2(CO)6{Me2P(S)NP(S)Me2-μ-S,S′}2] (1). The single-crystal X-ray analysis of 1 shows that this complex is formed by three fused cycles: one four-membered ring and two six-membered rings. The latter show a pseudochair conformation with the Mn and N atoms at the apices. There are two molecules, 1 and 1a, in the unit cell crystallographically independent with identical conformation.

Chiral bis(amino alcohol) silver complex derived from (+)-camphor

Jaime González; Marisol Reyes-Lezama; David Corona; Erick Cuevas-Yañez

A chiral silver(I) complex was synthesized from the reaction of a chiral amino alcohol derived from (+)-camphor and silver nitrate, with the structure unambiguously disclosed by X-ray analysis and 2-D-NMR experiments. In this complex, the amino alcohol molecule is a monodentate ligand through the amino nitrogen, requiring two amino alcohol units which are coordinated to the silver and located orthogonally through the NH–Ag–NH axis.

Pyrrolizidine alkaloids and diterpenes from Villasenoria orcuttii

Amira Arciniegas; Ana L. Pérez-Castorena; Karina González; Marisol Reyes-Lezama; José Luis Villaseñor; Alfonso Romo de Vivar

The chemical study of Villasenoria orcuttii, the only species of the genus Villasenoria, afforded three acyclic diterpenes, two of them described for the first time. Two pyrrolizidine alkaloids, florosenine and floridanine, among other known compounds were also isolated. The absolute configuration of floridanine was determined by X-ray analysis using anomalous dispersion with Cu Kαradiation, and its1 H and13 C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) data were corrected.
