Synthesis of 3-Substituted 1-Acyloxy-1,3-butadienes via Thermolysis of the Corresponding Cyclobutenes

John F. W. Keana; Hans R. Taneja; Mark Erion

Abstract We wish to report a general route for the synthesis of a series of 3-substituted 1-acyloxy-1,3-butadienes. These Diels-Alder reaciton partners join the growing number of available heteroatom-subtituted 1,3-butadienes,1 all of which serve to enhance further the already highly versatile Diels-Alder reaction in organic synthesis.
